what to expect during your massage session
I’m delighted that you’ve chosen to explore the benefits of soft tissue manipulation. Here’s what you can expect from a massage session with me.
What I do
I specialize in soft tissue manipulation aimed at relieving muscle pain, joint pain, and more. This type of massage goes beyond relaxation—it can help with pain management, stress relief, improve circulation, calm anxiety, and address issues such as:
Long-term or frequent headaches
TMJ (jaw pain)
Shoulder and neck pain
Mid and lower back pain
Hip pain
Much more
My Approach
Massage therapy goes beyond the superficial "fluff and buff" often associated with spas. It is a therapeutic practice aimed at helping you feel your best. I will customize the experience to address your unique needs, employing a variety of techniques during your session to tackle your specific concerns. These may include deep tissue massage to target chronic muscle tension, myofascial release to alleviate restrictions in the connective tissue, and trigger point therapy to address specific areas of pain. You are welcome to wear as much or as little clothing as you prefer, provided it remains appropriate for a professional setting.
Your First Appointment
When you book your first appointment, you’ll be asked to fill out an intake form. This form helps me understand your health history and what you’re looking to achieve with massage therapy. Completing it before your session ensures we can maximize your time on the table.
Arrival & Preparation
Upon arrival, you’ll enter a welcoming waiting room. I may be there to greet you or preparing the workspace for your session. I’ll give you a tour of the space and show you where to place your belongings.
During the Session
You have the option to undress to your comfort level. You will always be draped to cover sensitive areas, ensuring your privacy and comfort. Throughout the session, your comfort is my priority. I will position you in ways that enhance relaxation and effectiveness.
Communication is key
It’s crucial to communicate with me during the massage. If you experience any discomfort, pain, or have specific areas you want to focus on, please let me know. Your feedback helps me adjust the pressure and techniques to better suit your needs. Remember, effective massage therapy relies on a partnership between client and therapist.
Additional Amenities
My space includes a large, single-person bathroom for your convenience.
Final Thoughts
Massage therapy is a collaborative process designed to help you feel your best. By understanding your needs and maintaining open communication, I aim to provide a therapeutic experience that enhances your overall well-being. Thank you for choosing me as your massage therapist, and I look forward to working with you.
